MikeOSS is an open-source legal AI platform for document-based legal work. Public project materials describe matter-scoped workspaces, document chat with citations, tabular review, reusable workflows, document drafting and editing, contract review workflows, and optional US case-law lookup/citation tooling through CourtListener. MikeOSS can be self-hosted using the public codebase, while the hosted MikeOSS app is described as a demo/evaluation service and should not be used for confidential, privileged, client or sensitive materials.

Pricing detail
Open-source software with zero licence cost and no per-seat pricing. Users provide their own Claude, Gemini or OpenAI API keys and pay the applicable model-provider charges. Self-hosting may involve separate hosting, infrastructure and other third-party costs. Mike also offers a cloud-hosted demo service, currently free of charge; its terms reserve the ability to introduce metered, usage-limited or paid features.

Security & trust

Notes
MikeOSS states that it does not train foundation models on users’ prompts, documents, chats or outputs. Where a deployment uses a third-party model provider, the provider’s retention, logging and training practices are governed by its API terms and settings. A self-hosted deployment using local models can keep prompts and documents within the local environment, subject to any external telemetry or integrations configured by the user.

Integrations

Integrations
Model providers: Anthropic, Google Gemini and OpenAI. Optional CourtListener integration for US case-law search and citation verification

Jurisdiction

Statement
Jurisdiction-neutral for document-based workflows; optional legal research functionality appears limited to US case law through CourtListener and depends on API-token configuration.
Notes
Legal research capability is available through optional CourtListener integration for US case law, including citation verification, case fetching and opinion search. This requires operator or user API-token configuration.

Notes

Hosted demo only: MikeOSS states that users should not upload confidential, privileged, client, personal, regulated or sensitive materials to the hosted demo. Legal research capability is optional, US case-law only via CourtListener, and deployment-dependent.
